ogg/.ogv are not "professional video formats" don't expect pro to answer or help… we can't because licensing forbids you to include this free codec inside a commercial product (without releasing all the souce as free license, which you don't want, and i can understand that). go and ask for it on the feature request page (which i did today, twice, since i couldn't find a dedicated thread on AME there) When I search for answers, the very few answers are : Would love to start a queue folder, or just a small preset and let AME do both. Once in a while, i have to do web formats, html5 videos which are asked as mp4, sometimes webm (less now), and ogg. The huge part about that is that i can build a preset and let AME work in the background on any videofile i need, even queuing dozens of movies.

So I just wanted to say to the community for having this information available online and to the engineers who made this program possible: thank you.This question comes to me once in a while : The command was as simple as, ffmpeg -i input.mkv -c copy output.mp4 I know I know, the irony of /wanting/ to convert from an open-source format for a walled garden device.īut as a video editor I tried to use Adobe Media Encoder as a quick resort to get this video to play and to my surprise it said it wasn't support, in fact support was pulled.īringing back my Linux-background & Computer Science brain for a moment, I was able to look at the mkv container and see it was an mp4 video inside, so ffmpeg was able to pull the contents out into a container the device would read. mkv files that I wanted to play on an i-device and it doesn't support the mkv container. I just wanted to say thank you to the ffmpeg team and community for helping me with this one.
